Once you've verified a patients benefits, the next step is to obtain a reimbursement quote to determine details regarding the reimbursement, prices, and patient out-of-pocket.

Use benefits

Start by clicking "Use" and input the price, quantity, and any discounts for each benefit listed that the patient will be using. For example, $100 for an eye exam, $90 for a frame, and $120 for a single vision lens.

Reimbursement calculator

After you begin inputting prices into any of the benefits, the reimbursement caluclator will begin computing various important line items for you. The reimbursement calculator can be found on the right side of the benefits page. It summarizes the:

  • Total retail price

  • Discount(s)

  • Reimbursement (important: we factor in copays automatically)

  • Net cost for the patient

  • Patient pays today

How to leverage the reimbursement calculator

You can use this tool in real-time to help provide the patient with quotes on what they should expect to pay today and how much they should expect to get back from the vision plan. Some example use cases:

  • Patient wants to know how much money they'll receive from the vision plan

  • You want to know how much you should be collecting from the patient

  • You want all copays and other complicated insurance math automatically computed for you

  • You want to list all of the prices, benefits, and discounts and print them on paper to show your patients
