An Open Access provider is one that does not have a contract with the insurance carrier. An Open Access provider is someone who handles insurance to provide an in-network experience without being in-network directly.

If an out-of-network patient wants to know if their insurance is accepted, the provider must explain they are an Open Access Provider.
